Abstract: The Columbia Gas System has been involved in development of expert systems for over five years. TWo expert systems are operational: Glycol Dehydration Expert System and Regulator Design Assistant. The Glycol Dehydration Expert System solves the problem of high water vapor content in the outlet gas stream of a dehydration unit. The Regulator Design Assistant designs monitor/control regulator sets, including an optional bypass regulator and measurement. The Glycol Dehydration Expert System is PC-based while the Regulator Design Assistant is available on the corporate mainframe computer.
