History & Updates

Since October 2007, the Measurement Library has continued to expand and serve the flow measurement community, thanks in large part to the cooperation and support of the Major Contributors. Below is the chronology of the development of this library.

• 2023 American School of Gas Measurement Technology proceedings can now be downloaded.
• 2021 North Sea Flow Measurement Workshop proceedings can now be downloaded.
• 2022 North Sea Flow Measurement Workshop proceedings can now be downloaded.

• New Agreement! Thanks to an agreement with the Measurement Science Conference (MSC) organizers, proceedings (including most years from 1970 - 2011) can now be downloaded.

• 2023 CEESI Gas Ultrasonic Meter User’s Conference proceedings can now be downloaded.

• An additional PDF was added to every ISHM event directory starting with 1974. These PDFs contain information including: table of contents, event organizers, award winners, committee members, exhibitor and sponsor information, etc.

• 2012 & 2013 Appalachian Gas Measurement Short Course (AGMSC) abstracts were added. The papers will be available for download after the conference. This will be the first time that the Flow Measurement Technical Library was used as an avenue to distribute papers presented at an event that was not hosted by CEESI.

May 2013:

• 2011 & 2009 Western Gas Measurement Short Course proceedings can now be downloaded.

February 2013:

• Updated Agreement! Thanks to an updated agreement with American School of Gas Measurement Technology (ASGMT), all proceedings except for the ones from the current year can now be downloaded.
• 2012 North Sea Flow Measurement Workshop abstracts were added.

December 2012:

• 2009, 2005, 2005, 2004, 2003, 2000, 1999, 1998, 1997, 1996, 1995, 1994, 1992, and 1989 NCSL International abstracts were added.
• 2011 & 2010 Appalachian Gas Measurement Short Course proceedings can now be downloaded.

April 2012:

• 2001 & 2002 American School of Gas Measurement Technology proceedings can now be downloaded.

June 2011:

• New Agreement! The Acadiana Flow Measurement Society granted permission to allow documents from its technical library to be a part of the Flow Measurement Technical Library. The majority of the documents from their technical library are available for download.
• 1999, 1997, 1995, 1993, 1991, 1987, 1985, 1981, 1979, 1977, 1975, 1973, 1971, 1969, 1967, 1965, and 1960 Western Gas Measurement Short Course proceedings can now be downloaded. WGMSC was previous known as the "Pacific Northwest Gas Measurement and Control Short Course".

May 2011:

• New Agreement! The Western Gas Measurement Short Course has granted permission for proceedings to be downloaded except for the most recent year.
• 2005 and 2007 Western Gas Measurement Short Course proceedings can now be downloaded.

February 2011:

• New Agreement! Thousands of abstracts from AGA, PRCI, GPA (Gas Processors Association), API, ASME, and ISO were added; these documents can be purchased through Techstreet.
• 2007 & 2005 Flomeko abstracts were added.

January 2011:

• 2009, 2002, and 2000 Appalachian Gas Measurement Short Course proceedings can now be downloaded.
• 2010 & 2009 American Gas Association abstracts were added.
• Abstracts from the International Organization for Standardization, American Petroleum Institute, American National Standard Institute, American Society Of Mechanical Engineers, and the Instrument Society of America were added.
• 2009, 2003, 2001, and 1989 Western Gas Measurement Short Course abstracts were added.
• 2010 North Sea Flow Measurement Workshop abstracts were added.

November 2010:

February 2010:

• New Agreement! Thanks to an agreement reached with American School of Gas Measurement Technologies, proceedings published before 2001 can now be downloaded.
• Updated Agreement! Funding from PRCI made possible the data entry of over 11,000 abstracts for papers donated by NIST; the addition of these abstracts will make searching for references to these documents significantly easier.
• 1998, 1997, 1996, 1995, 1994, 1992, 1991, 1990, 1989, 1988, 1987, 1986, 1984, 1983, 1982, 1981, 1980, 1979, 1978, 1977, 1976, 1975, 1974, 1973, 1972, 1971, 1970, 1969, 1968, and 1967 American School of Gas Measurement Technology proceedings can now be downloaded. During the earlier years, the conference was called the "Gulf Coast Measurement Short Course".
• 2009 International Symposium on Fluid Flow Measurement proceedings can now be downloaded.
• 1999, 1985, 1984, 1983, 1982, 1981, 1971, and 1966 Appalachian Gas Measurement Short Course abstracts were added.
• 1982, 1981, 1980, 1979, 1978, 1975, and 1971 American Gas Association abstracts were added.

December 2009:

• Over 2,500 documents from the National Institute of Standards and Technology in Boulder, Colorado were added and can now be downloaded.
• 2009 North Sea Flow Measurement Workshop abstracts were added.
• 2009 South East Asia Hydrocarbon Flow Measurement Workshop abstracts were added.
• Over 550 abstracts for documents from the National Institute of Standards and Technology in Boulder, Colorado were added.

November 2009:

• Abstracts for a collection of flow measurement-related papers contributed by Dr. Tom Arnberg were added.
• Thousands more abstracts from document supplied by NIST were added.
• 2001 American School of Gas Measurement Technology abstracts were added.
• 84th International School of Hydrocarbon Measurement abstracts were added.
• 2009 International Symposium on Fluid Flow Measurement abstracts were added.
• 2006, 2002, 1999, 1995, 1990, and 1986 International Symposium on Fluid Flow Measurement can now be downloaded.
• 1968, 1964, 1956, 1955, 1945, 1944, 1941, 1940, 1938, 1936, 1929, and 1926 Southwestern Gas Measurement Short Course (now called ISHM) proceedings can now be downloaded; these files make a special new subcollection of documents called the "ISHM Historical Library".
• 1934 and 1939 Appalachian Gas Measurement Short Course abstracts were added.

October 2009:

• The process of scanning sixteen filing cabinets full of documents from NIST (over 31,000 documents) was completed. The process of data entering the bibliographic/abstract information has been started.
• Additional document abstracts from PCRI and downloadable documents from CEESI were added.
• 2008 Natural Gas Sampling Technology Conference proceedings can now be downloaded.

April 2009:

• New Agreement! The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) in Boulder, Colorado agrees to allow a large number of documents to be scanned and added to the library. Thousands of public domain documents from NIST will be downloadable.

August 2008:

• New Agreement! CEESI reached an agreement with Pipeline Research Council International (PRCI) to dramatically expand the number of abstracts and downloadable documents in the library. As part of this arrangement, the name of the library was changed to the "Flow Measurement Technical Library".

June 2008:

• New Agreement! CEESI reached an agreement with Natural Gas Sampling Technology Conference organizers to allow website users to download all of their papers.
• 2007 Natural Gas Sampling Technology Conference proceedings can now be downloaded.

October 2007:

• Officially Online! The "CEESI Technical Library" goes online in October 2007. Public website users are able to download thousands of measurement related documents published by CEESI, ISHM, and other public domain sources.

Summer 2007:

• New Agreement! CEESI reached an agreement with the North American Fluid Flow Measurement Council to allow public website users to download all International Symposium on Fluid Flow Measurement proceedings once the library is online.

Fall 2006:

• New Agreement! CEESI reached an agreement with International School of Hydrocarbon Measurement (ISHM) to allow public website users to download all but the most recent ISHM proceedings, once the library is online.
• New Agreement! Steve Stark (of Steve Stark of Stark & Associates, Inc.) donates a large quantity of ISHM proceedings to CEESI to support the upcoming technical library.

Summar 2006:

• Work on the "CEESI Technical Library" begins. The initial work involved scanning the (paper) library at CEESI, then work with organizations to create a platform to share publications with public internet users at no charge. The intent of the library is to serve as a resource to the flow measurement community including technicians, researchers, product vendors, and engineers.
