Abstract: The Federal gas pipeline safety standards are published as Title 49 CFR Part 192. These standards provide a minimun, level of safety for designing, constructing, testing, operating and maintaining gas pipeline systems. It is the operators responsibility to develop methods and procedures to achieve compliance with each of the regulations. It is incumbent upon the regulatory authorities to insure that the minimum standards are followed
