Abstract: To compute a volume of gas from an orifice meter chart accurately, requires a lengthy formula, a computer, and a good program. A field man does not have this equipment available to him so we will discuss other methods to arrive at a volume accurate enough for field use. Computation of volumes by a field man are neccessary for various reasons, some of which are: setting rates of flow to obtain allowables, reporting rates of flow to a dispatcher, and obtaining total production for a given period.
