Abstract: Although accuracy and reliability in Distribution gas measurement is expected by natural gas utilities with guidelines set for periodic testing of meter accuracy, it would seem that in Production gas measurement just the opposite is expected by many. There is no question that Production gas measurement is one of the most difficult and costly areas of gas measurement for the independent producer as well as the gas utility. Through proper design and meter selection, accuracy and reliability can become the rule rather than the exception.
