Abstract: HOW DID THE RECORDING CHART EVOLVE TO ITS PRESENT STATE? THERE ARE MANY FACTORS WHICH CONTRIBUTED TO THE DESIGN OF THE CIRCULAR RECORDING CHART. THE CHARTS SIZE, SHAPE AND ARC LINES VARIED WITH EACH INSTRUMENT MANUFACTURER. THE ORIGINAL PAPER AND PRINTING INKS USED TO PRODUCE RECORDING CHARTS WERE BASED ON THE STATE-OF-THE-ART TECHNOLOGY. THESE MATERIALS VARIED WIDELY FROM MANUFACTURER TO MANUFACTURER.
