Abstract: The following paper is presented on data and experience taken by the author while he was working on the installation, maintenance and operation of a gas Data Acquisition System for the Consumers Power Company of Jackson, Michigan. The Consumers Power Company-Michigan Gas Storage Company system consists of a wholly Michigan located transmission, storage and distribution gas handling system. The Data Acquisition System is installed in the Transmission-City Gate Measurement and Regulation System only, but somewhat overlaps into storage and compression areas. The purpose of the system is to help in dispatching at the central dispatch point, calculate flows for system measurement, monitor city gate outlet pressures and gather engineering data for engineering studies. It has been operating for three years.
