Abstract: Metrication is a fact of life. We will look at the traditional questions of Why?, When?, What? and How? as far as Industry is concerned. The metric system has been talked about in this country ever since we have had a country. Still, the founding fathers adopted the British system of measurement. At that time it was the only standard measurement system in Europe. Since we did most of our trading with Britain, it made sense.
