Abstract: A SYSTEM REQUIRES AT LEAST ONE UNIT AND A MEANS OF SETING UP AND READING THE UNIT. MOST OF THESE OPERATIONS MAY BE PERFORMED BY THE PC USING DIAL UP MODEMS. HOWEVER, THERE ARE SOME OPERATIONS (SUCH AS TRANSDUCER CALIBRATION) WHICH REQUIRE A HIGH DEGREE OF INTERACTION BETWEEN THE UNIT AND THE OPERATOR. IN THIS CASE THE DRU, WHICH REQUIRE A HIGH DEGREE OF INTERACTION BETWEEN THE UNIT AND THE OPERATOR.
