Title: Meter Station Noise Forecasting
Author: Doug Schacker

Abstract: Noise in the meter station is produced by noise generators within the piping system. These noise generators can be swages, headers, compressors, gate valves, heaters, regulators, control valves or any other device capable of transforming potential and kinetic energy into sound energy. Technical advances have made it possible to measure this sound accurately. What is more important, however, is that empirical testing and data gathering has produced a technique for forecasting a majority of the noises generated at a meter station.
