Abstract: Coriolis flowmeters are now routinely used for the metering of liquids and gases within the hydrocarbon production industry. In general, these instruments are found to be both reliable and accurate in terms of mass flow measurement. In addition, their ability to measure the density of the produced fluid is often utilised to calculate liquid water-cut in net oil computations. However, some limitations of the current range of meters have recently been recognised, particularly in their application to two-phase flow.
