Abstract: Monitor regulation as an overpressure safety device has been around for many years. However, since the Department of Transportation, Office of Pipeline Safety was given the authority to prescribe and enforce safety standards back in 1968, the use of monitor regulators has increased dramatically throughout the natural gas industry.
