Every human activity can be described within the context of a process. A process can be thought of as a set of activities that produces something, such as a product or service. The resulting product or service is intended to have more value than the cost of its inputs and activities. Formalized business processes, in general, can be described as groups of policies, procedures, and activities supporting a companys Mission, Vision, and Values.
