Abstract: For some 35 years, groundwater hydrologists and natural gas and oil reservoir engineers have studied the pressure-time response of a well to a change in production rale, Analysis of this information can lead to information on well and reservoir condition not available in any other way. Surprisingly, well test analysis for reservoirs which contact active water has been a subject of only limited study. Gas storage in aquifers and old gas or oil reservoirs in aquifers, as well as conventional gas and oil reservoirs studies have made this information of immediate importance.
