Abstract: Of prime importance in the gas measurement industry are quantities such as temperature, pressure, volume, and specific gravity. These quantities are combined and expressed in forumlas which are vital to the measurement of gas. Formulas have been derived by great men of the past such as, Robert Boyle, Jacques Charles, Joseph Gay-Lussac, Avogadro, John Dalton, and Joule-Thompson, and these formulas are generally called FUNDAMENTAL GAS LAWS. Although some are not exact because there are no perfect gases, some portions or all of these laws are used by measurement people throughout the world.
