Abstract: Practices to maintain the integrity of pipeline facilities are improved by the use of computer-based systems. Periodic corrosion surveys conducted over the line are performed with the use of handheld battery powered computers that record data for future reference and trending. Surveys can be stored on local area networks and efficiently recalled as needed. The data can be retrieved and used by multiple users as needs dictate.
