Title: LNG Flow And Density Measurements - A Progress Report
Author: D. B. Mann

Abstract: The progress of past and current LNG instrumentation programs at the National Bureau of Standards is presented. A review of cryogenic flowmetering and the application to liquefied natural gas (LNG) are described with particular emphasis on current moderate scale LNG flowmetering gas industry supported projects. Measurements of density both inferred and direct are reviewed, and the results af a gas industry supported density reference system are previewed by indicating performance of dielectric, vibrating element and displacement densimeters. The role of accurate and precise property data is shown to be pivotal to the instrumentation and measurements of LNG in respect to flow, density, temperature, pressure, and liquid level.
