Abstract: It is the intention of this paper to familiarize the various people concerned with gas distribution systems with insulation. Included in this group of people are those responsible for design, construction, maintenance, operation and corrosion control. Various sections covered will include the need for, methods of accomplishing, and fittings available for isolation through insulation. In addition, certain methods and procedures which can be used to correct faulty insulation when discovered are also discussed.
