Abstract: This paper will touch briefly on the operation and installation of the recording Calorimeter and cover in more detail on the maintenance and testing of the instrument. Precise flow of gas to the main burner is controlled with the gas meter. This is the cubic foot of gas measurement necessary for the BTU per cubic foot measurement. Combustion air flow to the main burner is controlled with the combustion air meter. Combustion air is split into two streams. One (primary air) which mixes with gas upstream of the main burner. The second stream arrives at the burner as secondary air and passes over the flame.
