Abstract: The field meter man is a specialist in a special kind of job. He was selected to be a meter man because he demonstrated a combination of qualities which set him apart from the average employee. He possesses a mechanical ability which enables him to work with measurement and regulation equipment. He has a willingness to learn to keep up with the latest developments in his field of technology. A successful meter man is able to accept responsibility and exercise initiative to get things done. He must be able to plan his work well and work alone or with other people within his company and the public.
