Abstract: In the gas industry today, most natural gas is measured by four different types of gas meters. Two are classified as inferential type meters and are known as orifice and turbine meters. These two are used primarily on very large and steady type loads. The other two are positive displacement type meters and are known as diaphragm and rotary type meters. These two are capable of measuring a wide range of loads with varying flow rates with a high degree of accuracy.
