Abstract: Due to their robustness, Vortex flow meters are widely used as a flow metering work-horse in many applications over a wide range of implementations. Within this field of operation the device is, from time to time, exposed to two phase flow particularly in gas and steam applications. From other flow metering devices in particular those based on measuring differential pressure i.e. Venturi nozzles, orifice plates, etc. It is well known that the presence of a liquid phase in a gas flow causes a significant increase in measurement certainty, if the second phase is not taken into account. Correlations have been published that allow for a correction of the output of Venturi nozzles in case of wet gases. As to the authors knowledge there is no such in formation available in the open literature for Vortex flow meters.
