Abstract: Oil sampling Processing and custom treating companies regularly send requests to production companies for periodic laboratory oil and water sampling updates on each trucked site after densities are received on initial loads from trucked sites. The need for current laboratory analyses is to measure and report accurate volumes at truck-in risers. Crude quality sampling is also required to ascertain processing requirements before delivery to a plant. Marketing departments require accurate analyses to ensure proper payment to customers. Proper sampling means reduced uncertainty with product shrinkage. Regulations per Directive 017 generally recommend annual oil quality sampling for most instances, but there are no regulatory requirements focused on oil wells producing water.
