Abstract: An experimental test program was conducted to investigate various combinations of parallel critical flow venturis (CFVs) mounted inside a common inlet chamber. The test program was designed to determine if an increase (or decrease) in accuracy or repeatability is obtained by utilizing multiple CFVs to measure an air mass flow rate instead of a single CFV. Data is presented for various CFV combinations ranging from a single CFV to eight CFVs operating in parallel at three distinct flow rates. In addition to the classical data presentation of throat Reynolds number versus discharge coefficient, Youden analysis is presented. The test program was repeated at three different time intervals to investigate long term repeatability as well as short term repeatability from a single test.
