Abstract: The purpose of this paper Is twofold. The first part of this paper will give information on the types and basic operations of small volume provers. Due to recent changes in the American Petroleum Institute (API) Manual of Petroleum Measurement Standards Chapter 4.3 many more provers will fall under this title. Second, to relate the authors experiences with small volume provers. This includes research, purchase, operation and trouble shooting of the units Sun Pipe Line Co. has in operation.
