Abstract: This progress report is intended to relate Ihe current status and future plans for research on LNG safety within our industry. At the May 26, 1970, meeting the LNG Committee recognized the need to obtain the accurate information that could be used to assure the highest practicable level of safety in the transport, storage, liquefaction and vaporization practices of LNG. An LNG Safety Task Group was formed to work with the A.G.A. research staff in developing and monitoring a research program directed to a thorough evaluation of LNG safety.
