Abstract: The purpose of this discussion is to investigate the principles behind the theory and operation of the Flow Calorimeter. The necessity of the Flow Calorimeter is well understood. Various types of gas, blast furnace, producer, and even natural gases from various fields, have various heating values. It is therefore an advantage for large scale domestic consumers to have a means for easily and cheaply determining the heating value of the gas being purchased.
