Abstract: Use of Digital Orthophotography is rapidly gaining momentum to become the land base of choice. This paper presents practical applications for this emerging technology. Some applications already have widespread utilization, and some only exist in pilot projects or conceptual demonstrations. The life cycle of a project is followed from route selection through construction to operations and maintenance. A brief discussion of a pilot project on an emergency response system follows the life cycle.
