Abstract: Union Gas Limited has a serviced area covering approximately 12,400 square miles in Southwestern Ontario, and distributes natural gas to over 430,000 customers dispersed through this area. The Company also operates major transmission facilities across Southwestern Ontario, including storage wells and compressor stations for the transportation of gas to its markets and to other Eastern Canadian markets. (Figure I) The major source of natural gas is Western Canada and it is delivered to the Union Gas transmission network by the Trans- Canada Pipelines and Great Lakes Gas transmission systems. Local production in Southwestern Ontario accounts for approximately 2 percent of the Companys requirements.
