Abstract: This paper will discuss the various methods available for testing and monitoring sediment and water in crude oil and petroleum products. Each method will be described and the advantages and disadvantages of each will be given. Recommendations will also be given for those utilizing the methods for determining the best method for their application. Also, recommendations will be given to help the user avoid some of the pitfalls that may be encountered.
