Abstract: Facing the demands of increasing calibration workloads and reductions in available resources the calibration laboratory is under pressure. There is a need to increase the efficiency of calibration with new innovative solutions. Yet, the Managing Director and Finance Director appear to have little or no interest in the latest requests for capital expenditure from the calibration laboratory. The only solution for the Calibration Laboratory Manager is to provide the Directors with the measurement they require - Return on Investment. This paper will demonstrate how to optimize calibration efficiencies and provide the necessary financial justification to the management team.
