Abstract: This paper is based on a letter survey conducted by the A.G.A. Plastic Pipe Task Committee 71-4, Fittings. The survey was made to determine what the gas industry considered meaningful tests for evaluating fittings used with plastic piping systems. The paper describes the tests that were suggested for evaluating fittings. There are several illustrations of the types of fittings discussed and of testing equipment in progress.
