Abstract: Test methods for determining the flow capacities of gas wells have been the subject of much discussion, both written and oral, throughout the natural gas industry over the years. The Back Pressure Test method for determining gas well capacities was developed by The Bureau of Mines in cooperation with the State of Oklahoma and a Committee appointed by the Natural Gas Department of The American Gas Association and is described in the Bureau of Mines Monograph 7 published in 1935.
