Abstract: Excellent progress has been made in emergency preparedness during the past year at all levels of government as well as in industry. We have all been moving ahead in harmony. Moreover, we can boast that petroleum plans at all levels are well ahead of most of the national effort in the civilian sector. The petroleum industry has been among the leaders in this effort, not only in in-house readiness effort, but in contribution to the government effort, and I must emphasize that in-house, company readiness is far more important than government readiness.
