Abstract: Safety of an LNG storage facility becomes the most important and timeconsuming part of planning once a decision has been made to use LNG. Prestressed concrete protective systems for primary storage containers of either metal or prestressed concrete offer an engineered way to minimize the consequence of a potential accident. Several specific projects employing such means are described.
