Abstract: Obtaining a spot sample of gas from a natural gas pipeline, at first glance, appears to be a simple and straight forward task. To the contrary, it is a complex task worthy of careful study considering the hundreds of millions of dollars that are at stake. There are several factors in the spot sampling process which have significant influence on the final analytical results.
