Title: Polyethylene Piping Technology And The Plastics Pipe Institute
Author: P. Paul Petro

Year Published: 1983
Abstract: Polyethylene piping technology is rapidly developing due to the improving quality of raw materials, improved manufacturing and quality control techniques, and the development of stringent product and installation standards. Because the American gas industry has accepted polyethylene piping, countries around the world have begun using polyethylene pipe for gas distribution. This rapid acceptance of a relatively new piping material has led to a proliferation of standards and some confusion about what is being done by various gas companies and pipe producers.
