Title: Fundamentals Of Gas Regulation

Abstract: - Due to the nature of the gas distribution system, the development of the gas regulator has grown. There are at least two reasons why gas regulators have come to be. Efficient distribution of natural gas in gas lines requires the pumping up of the gas to high levels (500 to 1400 psig, typical). On the other hand, for reasons of convenience, normal gas appliance design, safety features, and metering considerations the gas pressure at he end user is reduced (typically to 1/4 psig).
