Abstract: The value of natural gas is skyrocketing in the face of declining known reserves in the United States. Much of the demand for gas will be satisfied in the future with still more expensive synthetic and imported gases. Because of the increased value of gas, it is most important that accurate measurement be obtained. Accurate measurement builds a solid foundation for adequate returns on expensive investments. It also helps to control the unnecessary waste of energy by establishing reliable data for unaccountedfor gas reports. These reports establish guidelines for system maintenance.
