Abstract: This paper describes the procedures required to cathodically protect systems which are coated but not protected. The various problems encountered in this type of work are discussed in detail. Emphasis is placed on the planning and engineering which must precede field work. Field data acquisition and testing procedures are also listed. Several approaches and possible solutions are suggested.
