Abstract: The error in the coefficient of discharge has been reduced by approximately one half when orifice meters conforming to the new revision of the standard are used. These new orifice meters are constructed to much tighter dimensional and configurational requirements than in the past. Orifice meters which do not meet the requirements of Part 2, must have an in-place calibration run to determine the coefficient of discharge curve over the range of Reynolds Number expected.
