Abstract: When discussing the subject of High and Low Pressure Regulators, some definition should be given to distinguish between the two. Actually, when classifying Regulators as to pressure rating, it is sometimes a practice to include a third division identified as Intermediate Pressure. There basically is no distinct line of demarkation, the terms being relative depending upon operating practices. A general classification can be made that would be descriptive involving broad pressure terms. In other words, a Regulator can be reducing pressure levels of pounds to pounds, pounds to inches and inches to inches. These three divisions could be classified as High, Intermediate and Low Pressure, respectively however, we do find some encroachment of boundary areas
