Abstract: This comparison test program 2004 CENAM - PTB was in order to assess the confidence and performance of the Mexican primary standard for liquid flow measurement. This program was an initiative from Centro Nacional de Metrologia (CENAM) in Mexico in collaboration with the Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt (PTB) Liquid flow laboratory in Germany. We expected that the results differences between PTB and CENAM were inside CENAMs uncertainty limits, nevertheless test results from both laboratories, confirm that the measuring capabilities of meter 2 (MTR 2) are insufficient to accomplish the objective brought up above. Moreover, MTR 2 had a negative influence over the fluid velocity profile in configuration 1, causing an awkward response on the downstream turbine meter (MTR 1).
