Abstract: Responding to the needs of the Enbridge Gas Distribution Leak Survey group, a PDA application was designed for use by surveyors in the field. The application was developed and delivered on a Symbol 2700 handheld computer. This development, done in 2000, has proven successful and is currently in use. This paper describes the application and platform, the business drivers for its development and use, how it operates, and expectations for its future.
