Abstract: Hydrocarbon dew point measurement in natural gas is a challenging, and increasingly important measurement to make. More and more tariffs are being written in terms of hydrocarbon dew point, with the result being improved gas quality. In this paper, several very important reasons and locations to measure hydrocarbon dew point are discussed. The difference between water dew point and hydrocarbon dew point is detailed. Important sampling requirements are outlined. Different measurement methodologies are compared.
