Abstract: The paper discusses in detail the concepts and problems behind proving Ultrasonic Transit time meters with small volume provers. Starting with the theoretical concept relating the effect of the calibration volume on repeatability, this is then related to the effects of fluid turbulence on the repeatability of these types of meters.
