Abstract: Installations throughout Western Canada for truck and rail unloading/loading systems continue to expand at an ever increasing pace. The overwhelming need for these systems is a direct consequence of insufficient pipeline capacity available for most producers and midstream companies in their respective areas. Proper design is crucial to ensure proper measurement and reporting. This paper will focus on the design considerations and lessons learned in the field from implementing unloading/loading systems throughout Alberta, BC, Saskatchewan and Manitoba.
