Abstract: The effects of Cathodic Protection on measurement facilities have been discussed for several years. These effects can be profound but can be easily recognized and resolved. The author contends there are other factors that can cause more profound effects on measurement systems. These factors my not be as easily recognized or resolved. This paper and class will discuss the effects of cathodic protection and other induced signals on measurement systems. The effects of induced signals can be varied based upon the type of signal the electronic noise is induced upon. We will discuss the effects of induced signals on analog, frequency and digital signals. We will also touch on voltage referencing and ground loops
