Abstract: Midstream gas gathering systems generally consist of pipelines connected to raw natural gas production facilities Pressures and gas compositions may vary, as may moisture levels Hydrate and integrity issues The gas (aka raw gas) is being gathered for further processing and purification, primarily the removal of: Hydrogen Sulfide (H2S) Carbon Dioxide (CO2) Moisture (water) Hydrocarbon Liquids (C6+) NGLs (C3-C5) Spectra Energy, for example, operates several gathering systems with varying natural gas supplies.
