Abstract: This paper will discuss the need for reliable measurements in support of testing and other conformity assessment areas, in the context of accreditation and national measurement systems. The talk will demonstrate the requirement for validated measurement traceability in keeping with provisions of the North American Free Trade Agreement, emerging Mutual and Multilateral Recognition Agreements (MRAs and MLAs) and the trans.border or sectoral acceptance of results.
